Since the airport is less than 6 km / 4 miles from Bremen, most travellers opt to stay in the city itself, which has numerous lodging options. The five-star Park Hotel Bremen and the Best Western Schaper Siedenburg are just two of the many choices available in the city.
Central Bremen is fairly compact and easy to walk around, with many hotels in this part of the city being close to restaurants, shops and parklands, such as Wallanlagen Park, slightly to the north. Whilst many people visiting the city of Bremen choose to reserve accommodation prior to arrival, the main tourist information centres, including the one at the Hauptbahnhof train station, provide a free booking service, although this is same-day only.
Many of the most popular hotels in Bremen surround the Hauptbahnhof, but due to their central location, rooms here are often fairly pricey. The best budget accommodation is scattered around the city's many suburbs, including a youth hostel on the western side of the Altstadt at Kalkstrasse.
